Repairs close 2 lanes of I-85 southbound

Traffic streams past a Georgia DOT worker at the scene of a drain structure collapse on I-85 South just North of Clairmont Road on Monday evening October 7, 2013. Crews were planning to work through the night to repair the road, but expect that two lanes, including the HOV lane, will be closed through the morning rush hour.

If I-85 southbound through DeKalb County is part of your commute, you might want to re-think your Tuesday morning route.
The Georgia Department of Transportation said Monday afternoon it has closed two lanes of the interstate, just north of Clairmont Road, to complete emergency repairs on a drainage structure.
The HOV lane and adjacent lane were closed before the Monday afternoon commute and likely will remained closed through Tuesday morning, according to GDOT. Work will continue nonstop until completed.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible and to drive slowly, exercising caution in the work zone, a spokesman for GDOT said.
