The case of three adults indicted in 2011 on multiple child sexual abuse charges is before a Fulton County Superior Court judge this week.
Thomas Johnson, 45, has been in custody in the Fulton County Jail since October 2009. His sister Maryland Johnson, 46, and her daughter Crystal Johnson, 32, have been in custody since April 2010.
Efforts were being made to reach their attorneys for comment Tuesday.
Charges include aggravated child molestation, sodomy, incest, rape, contributing to the delinquency of minors and other alleged crimes against three minors from 2004 through 2009. Yvette Jones, a spokeswoman for the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office, said the children were between ages 2 and 4 when the alleged abuse began.
Two of the children allegedly were prostituted, according to an investigation. Brown said the alleged abuse came to light during forensic interviews with the children. Such interviews are conducted by specially trained individuals who try to determine whether a child has been abused.
Thomas Johnson was being held on $310,000 bond at the county jail; Maryland Johnson was being held on $100,000 bond; and no bond had been set for Crystal Johnson.
The trial is expected to last two weeks.
