Friday’s rain could linger into the first part of the weekend, but organizers of Saturday’s Atlanta St. Patrick’s Day Parade say the revelers will be marching down Peachtree Street rain or shine.
The rain could, however, delay some of the roadwork planned for this weekend.
Here’s what you need to know to avoid expected trouble spots on metro interstates:
Bridge work on I-20, sign work on I-285
Two eastbound lanes of I-20 will be closed all weekend from Langhorn Street to McDaniel Street for bridge joint repairs. The same work will shut down one westbound lane of I-20 between I-285 and Fulton Industrial Boulevard from 9 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday.
On the southwest quadrant of the Perimeter, sign structure work will close two northbound lanes from Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to Hollowell Parkway and one southbound lane from I-20 to Cascade Road throughout the weekend.
Two northbound lanes of I-285 will be blocked throughout the weekend from Bolton Road to South Atlanta Road for concrete rehabilitation.
Also on I-285, two northbound lanes will be closed all weekend between South Atlanta Road and Cobb Parkway for installation of mile markers and a camera pole.
One northbound and one southbound lane of Ga. 400 between I-285 and Sidney Marcus Boulevard will be shut down from 7 a.m. Saturday through 7 p.m. Sunday for fiber optic cable installation.
