1. The safest option is to go to a public fireworks show put on by professionals.

2. Never give fireworks to small children

3. Always carefully follow the directions on the packaging

4. Keep a supply of water close as a precaution

5. Make sure that the person lighting the fireworks is wearing eye protection

6. Light only one firework at a time and never attempt to relight a “dud”

7. Never throw fireworks in the direction of people, animals, vehicles, structures, or anything flammable
