A private school principal is accused of molesting a teenager, and Cobb County police believe there could be additional victims.
Jack Duane Hibbs, 57, of Marietta, has been charged with four counts of aggravated child molestation, according to Sgt. Dana Pierce with Cobb police. Hibbs was arrested Wednesday morning at police headquarters and booked into the Cobb County jail, where he remained Wednesday night without bond.
“According to detectives, the male victim, who was 15 years old at the time of the alleged crimes, recently reported to authorities that he had been molested at the family residence,” Pierce said in an emailed statement Wednesday night.
At the time of the alleged molestation, Hibbs was the principal of Faith Lutheran School, located on Lower Roswell Road in east Cobb, Pierce said. Wednesday night, Hibbs was listed on the school's website as the principal. The school educates students through eighth grade.
“In a world filled with followers, Faith Lutheran School is preparing children to become leaders,” Hibbs states in a welcome note on the school’s website.
Investigators believe there could be additional victims. Anyone with information regarding Hibbs’s contact with juveniles is asked to call police 770-801-3470.
