Pregnant woman hit by vehicle in Marietta

A pregnant woman was in serious condition Friday night after being hit by a vehicle as she tried to cross a busy street, Marietta Police said.

Jacela Dee Delgado and her boyfriend, both of Smyrna, were attempting to cross Windy Hill Road, just west of Cobb Parkway, when Delgado was hit, Officer David Auld said. She was not in a crosswalk when she was hit, Auld said.

Delgado was transported by ambulance to WellStar Kennestone Hospital in serious condition, Auld said. Her unborn child was not injured, Auld said Friday night.
