A Cobb County man took home the top prize in a Georgia Lottery instant game Friday, and he may want to invest some of his winnings in Saturday’s Powerball drawing.

Murray Chalmers won $30,000 in the instant game Lady Luck just days after his 70th birthday. While he said he intends to use his recent influx of cash to help his three adult children and three grandchildren financially, he may want to put at least $2 aside as the Georgia Powerball jackpot for Saturday’s drawing has jumped to $132 million to a single annuity winner.

Tickets for the jackpot, which has rolled eight times since April 26, are $2 per play.

Two payment options are available for winners of the Powerball: $132 million paid over 29 years in 30 graduated payments or the $78 million cash option.
