Police ID suspect in killing of Monroe man

Monroe police on Friday identified the man they believe shot and killed someone in the Walton County town Thursday afternoon.

Manual Lajun Hector, 33, of Monroe, was charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, police said in a statement.

Hector was arrested "minutes after” officers arrived on Wheel House Lane around 12:30 p.m. Thursday and found 24-year-old Uylesis Marvin Brown, the victim of a gunshot wound to the chest, police said. Brown died after being taken to the hospital.

Police said Hector was arrested at his home on Mill Creek Way.
