Authorities in Cherokee County are looking into who posted nude photos of male high school students on an Instagram account.

According to a police report obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Friday, two students, who were not identified, told police earlier this month about the account, which had reportedly posted several pornographic pictures of the students. The images showed the genitals of male students believed to be underage, according to the report.

The page also included a video of a male student “completely naked exposing himself,” the report states.

When a female student made a comment criticizing the page, she told police she received threatening messages saying she should be scared.

The page has been deleted, said Sgt. Marianne Kelley, a spokeswoman for the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.

“It makes it difficult for us to even find information at this point,” she said.

The investigation remains active, Kelley said. No one has been charged in connection to the account.

The sheriff’s office notified the Cherokee County School District about the investigation. Police did not say what school the students attend, due to the nature of the incident.

“Parents should discuss with their children and teens the long-term ramifications of taking and sharing inappropriate photographs of themselves and others,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement Friday. “Parents are also encouraged to monitor the activity of their child’s social media accounts.”
