Sandy Springs police have arrested a 28-year-old Milwaukee man in connection with a Sunday evening shooting at a Roswell Road shopping center.

Mario Ross, 27, was shot around 6 p.m. Sunday in the parking lot of the Target store at The Prado.

Ross was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, and was in stable condition late Monday morning, according to Sandy Springs police Capt. Steve Rose.

Larry J. Walls, who Rose said was a passenger in the car with Ross when the shots were fired by two other suspects, was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. He was booked into the Fulton County jail Monday and scheduled to appear in court Tuesday morning, Fulton sheriff’s office spokeswoman Tracy Flanagan said.

“Investigators learned that Ross and Walls were part of a drug deal that was taking place in the parking lot,” Rose said late Monday morning. “Detectives continue to work on finding the identity of the other men who were part of the drug transaction and responsible for the shooting.”

Rose said police were still looking for Ross’s vehicle, a black 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer with Georgia license tag BNE7598.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact Detective M. Tuvlin at 770-551-3312.
