Atlanta homicide investigators found suspicious “elements of the scene itself” regarding a man found dead in his southwest Atlanta apartment Monday.

Capt. Paul Guerrucci, commander of the Atlanta Police Department’s homicide unit, told Channel 2 Action News that the man’s roommates did not report the death for 12 hours and that the victim was in his mid-50s.

The tenant was found dead in the apartment building in the 1800 block of Myrtle Drive on Monday morning.

Police said the death was being treated as a homicide. The investigation is continuing, Guerrucci said.
