Less than a week after authorities asked the public for help in the case, a teenager killed during a gunbattle in a southwest Atlanta subdivision has been identified.

The 18-year-old was identified as Erin Harrison, according to Atlanta police. Investigators, who had released a sketch in the hopes someone would recognize him, had estimated he was between 13 and 17 years old.

Two people were shot when gunfire erupted about 10 p.m. on Oct. 9 in the 3500 block of Sherbrooke Way, located in a subdivision off Hogan Road. The teenager, believed to be the aggressor, was found dead outside the home when police arrived, authorities said. The second gunshot victim, a 35-year-old man, was conscious when he was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.

That man, identified as Kamau Williams, later died at Grady. Before succumbing to his injuries, however, he told police he was “familiar with the unidentified suspect” with whom he had a gunbattle, Atlanta police Maj. D’Andrea Price said during a news conference last week.

“When he was transported to the hospital, (Williams) stated that he had seen this individual in the neighborhood,” Price said
