Atlanta police are on the scene of a fatal shooting at the Etheridge Court Apartments in northwest Atlanta.

An unidentified male was shot and killed at the complex in the 2500 block of Center Street, Sgt. Greg Lyon wrote in an email to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution just after 1 p.m. Friday.

The shooting was the second fatality in less than 24 hours in northwest Atlanta.

A man in his 20s was shot several times about 9 p.m. Thursday on Jones Avenue, which is about four minutes away from the scene of Friday's incident. That man, whose name has not been released, later died of his injuries.
