Police responded Monday morning to a holdup at a Midtown bank.

About 9:15 a.m., Atlanta police received a call about a robbery at the PNC Bank branch at 75 5th St. near Georgia Tech.

Police spokeswoman Officer Kim Jones said the suspect entered the bank and passed a note to one of the tellers.

The note read, “give me all the cash in your drawer and do not give me any dye packs or trackers, and you have less than 45 seconds,” Jones said.

The suspect took the money and ran from the scene, police said.

Police and private security in the Midtown area were alerted of the robbery and found video of the suspect making his escape, Jones said.

In the video, he dropped the money when a dye pack exploded near the Biltmore, Jones said. “The suspect returned to pick up the money and then fled east toward West Peachtree Street,” she said.

He had on a black hoodie, black slacks or jeans, black shoes and a Green hat with yellow writing on it, police said.

The robbery remains under investigation.
