A group of would-be Cobb County home invaders were attacked Tuesday morning by the people living in the home, police said.
Police later arrested the five men, charging them with with armed robbery, aggravated assault and burglary, police said.
Imanuel Blair Tyler, 20, of College Park, Victor Lopez, 19, of Lithia Springs, Devante Brown, 21, of College Park, Ricky Carrasquillo, 17, of Kennesaw, and 17-year-old Terrone Mays were all arrested Tuesday morning, authorities said.
Police were called to a home in the 2400 block of Doubletree Drive near Acworth after a neighbor reported suspicious activity at the home, Cobb County Police spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce said.
Officers arrived to find two of the alleged bandits injured, police said.
Pierce said at least one of the people inside the home hit the intruders with a baseball bat.
“I don’t know how many victims were in the house, but they are the ones that administered blunt force trauma,” to the would-be burglars, Pierce told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The home invasion victims could not be reached for comment.
One of the two injured suspects had to be hospitalized, police said
Two more suspects were arrested a short distance from the house, authorities said.
And Cherokee County Sheriff’s deputies, and Acworth, Marietta and Woodstock police were able to catch the fifth suspect, Pierce said.
They are all being held at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, authorities said.
