DeKalb police have identified the barber who was shot and killed at a hair salon on Memorial Drive Thursday afternoon.
Police say 36-year-old Salahuddin Salaam was killed at Hair We Are hair salon in an apparent robbery.
The suspect is a customer who got a haircut at the salon prior to the incident, DeKalb police spokeswoman Mekka Parish said in an email.
After the haircut was finished, he reportedly shot Salaam multiple times and robbed him. The barber was taken to an area hospital in critical condition and later died from his injuries.
The name of the customer, who is not in custody, has not been released.
