After weeks of burglaries and car break-ins on the city’s north side, Brookhaven police this morning arrested a suspect in the case.
All the incidents occurred in the area of Granger Drive, said Maj. Brandon Gurley, spokesman for the Brookhaven Police Department. About 2 a.m. Saturday, officers patrolling that area spotted Patrick Harriger loitering and stopped to investigate, he said.
“He was found to be intoxicated,” Gurley said.
Detectives secured a search warrant for Harriger’s Brookhaven residence. Stolen property from the burglaries and car break-ins were found in the home, Gurley said.
Harriger, 41, was arrested and charged with loitering and prowling, public drunkenness and entering auto.
He is being held in the DeKalb County jail.
The investigation is ongoing.
