My Style: Drexina Nelson

A Downtown fashion photographer balances comfort with style for everyday as well as special occasions.

DREXINA NELSON, 31, is a fashion photographer. She lives Downtown.

SIGNATURE STYLE: "Simplicity with a little sex appeal. It's hard to dress up when I am on the ground shooting, but I never leave the house without looking cute."

WHAT SHE'S WEARING: Blue jacket by Tahari, LaROK stirrup pants, black wedge shoes from Seychelles and silver earrings from Saks Fifth Avenue.

BEST FIND: "A pair of Dior platforms and a Valentino sheer cover up." Shell ring from T.J. Maxx.

A WEAKNESS: "Comfort clothes. I always find myself in a tug-of-war between being stylish and being comfortable." Green satin BCBG cocktail dress.

FAVORITE STORES: "I'm the high-end outlet queen and designer sample sale queen! I'll travel halfway around the world to catch a great steal!" Silver cuff purchased in New York and blue crystal cuff purchased in Atlanta.

FAVORITE LABELS: "Right now I am loving shoes by Jil Sander. I also love Tory Burch. [Her pieces] are classic and chic but still modern." White shirtdress from Saks Fifth Avenue and black leather jacket from T.J. Maxx.

COLLECTIBLES: "Flat boots. I have so many pairs of flat boots that afford style, quality and comfort."

BIGGEST SPLURGE: "A pair of Miu Miu platforms. They're awesome works of art, yet so worth the price tag!" From left: Shoes from Marciano, Bakers and Miu Miu.

STANDOUT FASHION MOMENT: "Wearing a red, fitted, low-cut dress from the boutique Vain. I'm pretty conservative but on this particular occasion, I wanted to wear something that had a bit of edge, still a little feminine, but with a wow factor." Chiffon flower-print top from Saks Fifth Avenue, black Joe's Jeans, beaded bracelet from T.J. Maxx, Betsey Johnson watch, and black peep-toe boots.

FASHION PET PEEVE: "When people wear leggings as pants and when people are too gaudy and over the top. It looks like they are trying way too hard to be stylish."
