My Style: Ann Huff

Gallery owner Ann Huff learned that in fashion, less really does mean more.

ANN HUFF is co-owner of Huff Harrington Fine Art. Her signature style: "Comfortable elegance. From one who always thought of her wardrobe as less is less, I'm realizing that with some good editing, less is more."

BEST FIND: "Spanx. Coco Chanel said it best: A woman of a certain age needs to choose between her face and her fesses [fanny]. With Spanx, I can choose my face!" Black Evo Vorro dress with silver eyelets, silver hoop earrings from Atlanta's Frolic Boutique and silver bracelet from the markets in Provence, France.

FAVORITE STORES: "Ginger Howard, Nordstrom, Hermes and Target. But of course my favorite place to shop is French markets -- especially off season, when there are no tourists and only wonderful bargains!" White linen dress from a market in Provence, France.

Huff's vintage French "telegram" necklace was a gift from a friend.

BIGGEST SPLURGE: "A handbag that cost one month's salary [just out of college]." Gold-tone cuff from Provence and Cartier watch.

She wore the olive brown Tadashi dress to the Southern States Inaugural Ball in Washington, D.C., in January. Her accessories: a 1950s charm bracelet, gold filigree and citrine necklace, and Nina peep-toe heels.

STANDOUT FASHION MOMENT: "The 2009 Presidential Inaugural Ball. I hired Karen Charles of fashionENVY Dress Studio to come to the house with an assortment of formal dresses. We found a very pretty dress that I was ready to buy, but it was going to require either a crash diet or significant alterations. Just as I was about to go for it, I asked if I could try on one of my own dresses. She took one look at me in it and gasped, 'That's it!'"

"I wore [the Tadashi dress] with a favorite necklace from Atlanta jewelry designer, Paige Brown."

A WEAKNESS: "Hermes scarves. A scarf is the perfect accessory for someone who travels a lot. It allows you to dress up any outfit, it invites creativity, it packs easily and is functional. I've also started a travel log with every scarf purchase. I write about when I bought it, why I bought it and what was going on at the time."

A FASHION PET PEEVE: "Too much makeup is unfortunate because it totally defeats the purpose." Black Edith Mezard top, white butterfly skirt from Talbots, white purse from Devernois Paris, Hermes scarf, Cole Haan heels, gold and copper bracelet, and Paige Brown necklace.

ATLANTA STYLE IS ... "Pretty. ... Atlanta women have that gracious, pretty style."
