On a May day, Lake Lanier from the air
With Atlanta's spring rains Lake Lanier has recovered slightly from the record low it reached last year during an ongoing drought which could affect millions boating, swimming or fishing this summer.

Lake Lanier is still recovering from a severe drought though some gains have been made through the early part of May. Boaters and other recreationalists are making their summer plans. Looking from the southeast to the north, some of the lake's many coves and docks unfold along its 692 miles of shoreline.
