Three metro Atlanta districts used flawed counts of students displaced by Hurricane Katrina to wrongly secure millions of dollars in aid, federal authorities have charged. Here are some photos of the students who fled the storm's wreckage and landed in metro Atlanta. Kelly Haywood, of New Orleans, graduated from Sequoyah High School in Canton in 2006.

JC Brignone, from Bay St. Louis, Miss., moved to Lilburn and played on Parkview High School's offensive line.

Special arrangements at Hopewell Christian Academy had to be made for Richard Allen because he was the school's only senior when he enrolled at the school after fleeing Katrina. Here, he becomes emotional at his 2006 graduation.

In 2006, Willie Williams, then 17, was living in a Holiday Inn Express in Smyrna. The New Orleans native was working at the hotel while also attending Campbell High School.

Laurent Delafontaine enrolled at the Paideia School in Atlanta weeks after leaving the destruction of Hurricane Katrina.

Kenneth Morgan, Jr. embraced his mother, Gwenith Morgan during his Hopewell Christian Academy graduation ceremony in 2007.

Patrik Jacobsen took an unusual route to Peachtree City. He was a Swedish exchange student staying in a New Orleans suburb when Katrina struck. The house he was staying was not destroyed but he decided it would be best for him to relocate amid the destruction. His host family had a relative in Peachtree City, so he moved.

Henry Smith became a student at Sequoyah High School in Canton.

Keith Walker (left) and Casey Hovermale (right) became students at Woodstock High School.

Nalani Chester (center) became a student at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic high school in Fairburn.

Norman Gallagher enrolled at Woodstock High School in Woodstock.
