The biggest obstacle to distance learning is finding Wifi. Morgan County has a low-income student population and not every home has internet access. March 25, 2020 Conyers: Deacon Fred Johns presided over "Drive-In" Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament Wednesday, March 25, 2020 where some 50-cars attended in the parking lot at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Conyers. Adoration is offered every weekday (weather permitting) from 9am to 10 am, A large consecrated host (bread wafer) from the Mass which Catholics believe is the Real presence of Jesus Christ, is reserved in a vessel called a "Monstrance" where the faithful pray before. Normally Adoration occurs in small chapels outside the main sanctuary when Mass is not being celebrated. Since the COVID-19 outbreak, Catholics in the Atlanta Archdiocese and around the world have been implementing creative ways to serve the faithful. At St. Pius X Catholic Church located at 2621 GA-20 in Conyers, Georgia, the clergy staff have implemented Drive-Thru Confession and Drive-In Adoration as well as streaming Sunday Mass online and offering daily Facebook video messages from the clergy staff. 200323-Lawrenceville- Fr. John Howren, pastor of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lawrenceville, offers the sacrament of confession to a parishioner who is sitting in their car. The church suspended doing their normal confessions inside the church, but wanted to keep the sacrament available during Lent while also keeping the congregation safe from coronavirus.
