May 29, 2017 Marietta: Dale Covington (Vietnam veteran) of Marietta prays at the end of Major General Joe Jarrard's address at the 2017 Memorial Day Ceremony that was held at the Marietta National Cemetery 500 Washington Avenue Marietta, GA on Monday, May 29, 2017. Major General Joe Jarrard Adjutant General of Georgia gave the Memorial Day address and The National Memorial Day Association of Georgia President, Brig. General Tom Blackstock was the Master of Ceremonies. Patriotic music was provided by The Atlanta Concert Band under the direction of Mr. Paul Scanling. Reflections, recognitions and presentation of floral wreaths given by various honored guests and groups highlighted the event along with a 21-gun salute and Echo Taps. JOHN SPINK/JSPINK@AJC.COM.
