Gwinnett County police this morning are investigating a fatal shooting at a home in the Hoschton community. Officers responded to the 4200 block of Platinum Court about 4:35 a.m. after a 13-year-old girl called 911 to report that her mother had been shot, Gwinnett police Cpl. Jake Smith said. When officers entered the home, they found a woman dead with multiple gunshot wounds, Smith said. “The 13-year-old daughter was not injured,” he said. Smith said the man detained several houses away was the husband of the victim and the father of the 13-year-old caller. JOHN SPINK/JSPINK@AJC.COM
