Two people were killed in a car wreck late Saturday night in LaGrange, according to police.

It happened around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday at the intersection of Hamilton Road and Whitesville Street. LaGrange police said a white Acura was traveling at a ‘high rate of speed’ heading north on Whitesville Street. Shandria Kennedy, in a Honda Accord, was attempting to turn left onto Whitesville Street when the Acura struck the front of her car. The Acura continued north on Whitesville Street and then struck a utility pole, broke apart and caught fire. The two occupants of the Acura died as a result of injuries they sustained when the car hit the pole, police said. Police have not identified those two people.
