2 people arrested in shooting death of UGA student from Gwinnett

Police in Athens arrested two men Wednesday night in connection with this week’s shooting death of University of Georgia student Min Seok Cho.

Cho, a 21-year-old graduate of Peachtree Ridge High School in Suwanee, died Tuesday after being brought by private vehicle to Athens Regional Medical Center for treatment of a gunshot wound.

Athens-Clarke County police spokeswoman Hilda Sorrow said Cormaine Goss, 21, and Andre Ruff, 18, were arrested and charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Sorrow said investigators determined that Cho was shot in the area of Baxter Drive in Athens, and that he apparently met Ruff and Goss “to exchange marijuana.”
