A man was struck and killed while crossing a northwest Atlanta street Saturday night, police said.

Police spokesman Officer Jarius Daugherty said in a statement that the victim was crossing Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway outside of a crosswalk in the 2080 block about 10:40 p.m.

He was struck by a vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The driver remained on the scene and is not expected to be charged, Daugherty said.
