A former private school janitor was sentenced to 15 years in prison for recording students in the restroom and receiving child pornography, a federal judge ruled Thursday.

Josh Ensley, 52, of Tucker also will be on supervised release for the rest of his life, the ruling states.

Ensley, a former janitor at the Paideia School, has been in federal custody since his October 2012 arrest after a search warrant was executed at his home. Ensley had been employed at the school since 1996 and lived with his mother in his childhood home, according to court documents obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He was arraigned and indicted the following month.

A U.S. Postal Service investigation into a Canada-based movie company prompted charges against Ensley and others who allegedly purchased the materials, The AJC previously reported. Ensley admitted to having the illicit materials, but investigators do not believe he had inappropriate contact with any students.

“I will always be ashamed of what I have done, and how I hurt my family, the victims and myself,” Ensley stated in a court filing this week. “The school administration was always very good to me, and I only hope that my very bad conduct has not harmed any of the children nor their education.”

Ensley had no prior criminal history.
