The driver of an SUV died after his vehicle ran into the back of a tractor-trailer on I-285 South Monday afternoon, Georgia State Patrol officials said.

According to the GSP, the wreck occurred about 2 p.m. just north of the west side I-20 west ramp. Officials have not released the victim’s name pending notification of the family. The man was the only occupant in the vehicle.

All lanes of the interstate in the area of the crash were opened back up shortly before 4 p.m., officials said.

The crash remains under investigation, but charges are not currently pending, the GSP said.
