VICKERY, Jack Anthony

1976 - 2021

Jack Anthony Vickery, 45, of New Franklin, Ohio, entered the presence of Jesus on October 5, 2021, after a sudden illness.

He was born in Athens, Georgia, to Jack and Barbara Vickery, and is a 1994 graduate of Shiloh High School in Snellville, Georgia. He attended North Georgia College and University where he was a member of the Blue Ridge Rifles Precision Drill Team and received an undergraduate degree in psychology in 1998. He shared in his father's lifelong calling to law enforcement becoming a police officer with the City of Monroe Police Department (Georgia) right out of college. In 2002, he became a special agent with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) assigned to the Atlanta Regional Office. Jack took the next step in his career in 2006 when he became a special agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). He has worked in the Akron Office of the Cleveland Division for 15 years. Jack was not only an exceptional case agent but a SWAT operator and firearms instructor.

Jack was a dedicated public servant, but his true passion was his family. The epitome of a southern gentleman, he loved coming home each day to his wife, Vicki, of 17 years and adored their two beautiful daughters, Addison and Morgan. He was an amazing husband and father and so enjoyed sharing with his girls all things Star Wars and superheroes. He was born a Georgia Bulldog, was a Jedi at heart, Superman to his family, and a devoted son to his parents. Also left to cherish his memory are in-laws, Robert and Linda Metz of Georgia; sisters-in-law, Lorie (Grant) Nelson of Georgia, and Jodi (Keith) Spooner of Georgia; brother-in-law, Jeffrey Metz of Georgia; and nieces, Ansley Nelson and Aubrey Nelson of Georgia.

His faith and the love of Jesus was the foundation of Jack's life. He was a member of Faith Family Church in North Canton, Ohio, where he volunteered with the children's ministry security team for many years.

Join Jack's family as they celebrate the life of this wonderful man on Thursday, October 14, at Faith Family Church in North Canton, Ohio. Family visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with a service following at noon. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Jack's honor to Gwen's House (gwenshouseoh.com), a 501c3 nonprofit helping women coming out of prison. Donations can be made through the website or mailed to Gwen's House, P.O.Box 2855, North Canton, OH 44720.
