James "Jim" Albert Haney Taylor, age 81 of Lilburn, Georgia, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 8, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Annabel Taylor. He is survived by his wife, Carol; his children, David, Gordon, and Kirsty; ten grandchildren, Sophia, Andrew, Arran, Max, Kylie, Mia, Duncan, Gordon, Lindsay, and Harrison; and his beloved Brodie. Jim was born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania on May 11, 1940. He attended Farrell High School and Park College. Jim proudly served his country for 30 years as a member of the United States Air Force and retired at the rank of Chief Master Sergeant in 1988. Military service took him to RAF Prestwick, Homestead AFB, the U.S. Air Force Academy, Vietnam, MacDill AFB, RAF Mildenhall, Holloman AFB, and RAF Bentwaters. He continued to serve the military in the civil service until his retirement. He was stubbornly devoted to his family and country. Jim loved his wife, children, grandchildren, Brodie, gardening, and sports. He is dearly missed by those who love him. A Memorial Service will be held at Tom M. Wages Funeral Service, 3705 Highway 78 West, Snellville, GA 30039 (770-979-3200) on Monday, October 18, 2021 at 11:00 AM. The Memorial Service will be Live Streamed. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 18, 2021 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Entombment will occur in a private ceremony at the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Gold Star Family Home Program via the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
