Christopher Allen Nisbet

Colonel U.S Army Reserves-Dental Corps (ret.) lost his courageous battle with Parkinson's Balance on September 24, 2021. Chris grew up in Buckhead and graduated from North Fulton High School in 1963. He attended and graduated from Mercer University in 1967. He then entered Emory University School of Dentistry and graduated in 1971. He went into the U.S Army Dental Corps upon graduation in 1971.

Chris achieved the rank of Colonel in the U.S Army and Army Reserves. While on reserve active duty training, Chris taught over Reserve medics and nurses on dental procedures to use in emergencies. He retired with a total of 34 years of service in the U.S Army and Army Reserves. Chris felt his Army Service was his greatest achievement in life.

He loved playing golf and he was a very good golfer. He loved sailing his boat both up in New England and on Lake Pontchartrain. He and his son won many races in their boat class. Chris was an avid lifelong fan of Georgia Tech.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Brown Rankine; a daughter, Michelle Rankine Ramirez; a grandson Dante Ramirez, and granddaughter, Mia Ramirez. He is also survived by his two brothers, Richard Rankine (Suzy), and James Rankine, and a sister, Jeanne Rankine Lunsford. Chris was the son of Dr. Christopher (Scotty) Rankine, Sr. and Mary Francis Mize Rankine who preceded him in death. A daughter, Renee Rankine Bidegain, and a son, Christopher A.N. Rankine, III, also preceded him in death. Chris was a member of Dunwoody United Methodist Church.

Due to Covid restrictions a private family grave side service will be observed.
