MCCLESKEY, Gary Lamar

Gary Lamar McCleskey, age 76, a native of Sandy Springs died September 23, 2021 surrounded by his family. Gary was born September 29, 1944 to Katie Irene Thompson McCleskey and Earl Lamar McCleskey that preceded him in death. His is survived by his brother Larry Earl McCleskey (Wanda), his wife Mary Pearl McCleskey (aka Kris). Gary attended Sandy Springs High School and received his BA degree from the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era. After his military service, he returned to his family business in Sandy Springs on Roswell Rd. and ran the family store. The store location is now developed to a retail shopping center, known as Mt. Paran Walk that he continued to run with his brother. He is the beloved Grandfather to David Bebo (Molly); Daniel Bebo (Natasha): Laura Graper (Christopher) Jason Bebo, Hudson Bebo and Adeline Bebo and Great Grandfather to Luke Bebo; CJ Graper and Stevrick Card. He is the Step-Father of Michael Bebo (June) and Mark Bebo (Kimberly). The following gentlemen will serve as Pallbearers: Daniel Bebo (Grandson); David Bebo (Grandson); Michael Bebo (Stepson); Chandler McCleskey (Great Nephew); Christopher Graper (Grandson in Law) and Kirk Buttle (Friend). Funeral Services will be held Sunday, September 26, 2021 at 11 AM at Sandy Springs Chapel. Rev. David Shivers will officiate. The interment will follow in Arlington Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday from 4 PM until 6 PM at Sandy Springs Chapel, 136 Mt. Vernon Hwy. NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
