Hendrick, Michael

HENDRICK, Michael
Michael Walker Hendrick, 23, one of the brightest stars in the universe, was called to Heaven on Thanksgiving night. Michael's sweet smile, infectious laugh and spirited sense of humor will be missed by everyone who knew him. Of late, he worked for several moving companies, proud of how he had learned to carefully move the often heavy and awkward furniture of his clients with ease and without damage, supervising crews and pleasing customers. He worked hard and played hard.
A lifelong enthusiast of all sports, Michael's first love was bowling. In his youth, he competed in tournaments, amassed shelves of trophies and regularly bowled 200+ games. Ten games in a row, no problem! He also played baseball, basketball, soccer and football and even dabbled in gymnastics. He and his dad especially loved SEC football, uh, can you say, "Go DAWGS!!"?
But mostly, Michael will be remembered by his close friends and family for his kind and genuine heart. He loved kids and would have made a good father. He loved his sister Hailey above any other person on earth, and they shared an extraordinarily close bond.
Michael is survived by his father Stephen Ashley Hendrick; loving mother Ashley Marie Jones; sister Hailey Marie Hendrick; adoring maternal grandmother Janice Doi Sears (Jeff) Kassmir; grandfather Richard D. Sears; paternal grandfather George R. Hendrick; paternal great-grandmother, Ruby Walker; and paternal grandmother Donna M. Hendrick. Preceded in death were maternal great grandfather, Michael J. Doi, his namesake, a decorated WWII veteran, and great-grandmother Gene Hashimoto Doi.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, December 11, at North Atlanta Church of Christ, 5676 Roberts Drive, Dunwoody, GA 30338. Visitation with the family will be at 10 a.m., and the Memorial Service will be at 11 a.m. in the auditorium, followed by fellowship in Fellowship Hall, Room 106. Memorial contributions can be made to the Roswell Youth Bowling League, Bowlero, 785 Old Roswell Road, Roswell, GA 30076 or to North Atlanta Church of Christ.
