FRIEDRICHSEN, Hans Jack
Hans Jack Friedrichsen, age 87, of Lilburn, GA, died peacefully on September 9, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his sister Erica and his wife Carol of 58 years. He is survived by his two sons, Hans of Atlanta and Eric of Mexico, granddaughters Haley and Marlee, and step-granddaughter Amirah Sharif.
He was born June 12, 1934, grew up in Kenilworth, NJ, and married March 17, 1957. The family settled in Bernardsville, NJ in 1960, then moved to Georgia in 1976. He retired from AT&T/Bell Labs in 1992, where he worked as a Design Engineer.
Hans will be remembered for his many crafts, his love of animals and nature, his generosity, and his faith. He was a volunteer leader with the Boy Scouts of America and was a member of the Order of the Arrow. He enjoyed spending summers at the family log cabin in Sherburne, NY, which he and his wife and sons built in 1972.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Thursday, September 23, at Oak Road Lutheran Church in Lilburn (1004 Oak Rd.), where he was a member, with visitation at the church between 1 and 2 PM. Burial will follow immediately after the service at North Atlanta Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at Bill Head Funeral Home in Lilburn/Tucker on Wednesday, September 22 between 6 and 8 PM.
