SWINT, Gertrude Ellen
Gertrude Ellen Swint, 100, of Buford, Georgia, passed on September 1, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-eight years, Franklin E. Swint, Sr. She is survived by sons, William Karl Swint (Martine) of Grayson Georgia, Franklin E. Swint, Jr. of Lawrenceville, Georgia and daughters, Jeannie Hall (Richard) of Lexington, Kentucky and Sarah Wallace (Ronnie) of Buford, Georgia. She is also survived by five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was an avid opera lover who sang professionally at The Hollywood Bowl and for President Franklin D. Roosevelt. She was a WW II veteran in the WAC. She continued her interest in music throughout her life. She was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. Graveside services will be held at North Atlanta Memorial Park on Saturday Sept. 4th at 11:00 AM. Viewing will be on Friday, Sept. 3rd, from 4:00-7:00 PM at A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home.
