EASTLING, Joy Elaine
Age 70, of Riverdale, GA, entered the presence of her Lord on October 5, 2021. She was born to Glenn and Marjorie Andrews Eastling in Atlanta on January 19, 1951, and attended Grady High School (1969) and Georgia State University (BA & MA). She spent her career teaching in the Atlanta Public Schools, including at Sylvan, Harper-Archer, and South Atlanta High Schools. She was passionate about teaching young minds and impacting students' lives for good. She was also known for celebrating life events of friends and family in her unique way.Joy was raised in and a long-term member of First Alliance Church of Atlanta. In recent years, she has been an active participant at Liberty Baptist Church of Fayetteville where her funeral will be held on October 13 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will begin at noon with interment following at Westview Cemetery, where she regularly decorated family graves.Joy was preceded in death by her parents; her baby sister, Kay Frances; and brothers, W.G. and Jerry. She is survived by brothers, Gordon and Tim; sisters, Glenda MacDonald and Merrily Lake; and many nieces and nephews.Memorial gifts may be made in Joy's name to First Alliance Church of Atlanta or Liberty Baptist Church, 1077 Hwy. 314, Fayetteville, GA 30214.
