DURHAM (BAIRD), Jacqueline Isabel
Jacqueline Isabel Baird Durham of Decatur, GA, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2021. She was born on January 24, 1936, in Hoschton, GA. At the age of 16, she attended Berry College, earning a bachelor's degree and later a master's degree with distinction in English from Georgia State University.
Jackie was a devoted wife and proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is a published author and dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Decatur, where she helped found the Pilgrims Sunday School class.
Surviving Jackie is her husband of 62 years, Jesse "Jay" Clifford Durham Jr., her children Cynthia Markle, Glynnis (Compton) Coleman, Jesse (Sandra) Durham III, Jeffrey (Sarah) Durham, and their families (including seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren with a fifth on the way) as well as her sister Pearl (Jerry) Wall and brother Vic (Christie) Baird.
