DOURRON, Rodney

Rodney Michael Dourron passed away November 1, 2021, at the age of 58. He was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on December 14, 1962, to Dr. Nestor and Dr. Maria Dourron. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science and continued his education at Yale University where he received a Master of Public Health. His love of medicine led him to Medical College of Georgia followed by residencies at Stanford Hospital in surgery and obstetrics and gynecology at Bridgeport Hospital. He had been in the family medical practice of Dourron OB/GYN Associates for over 24 years, with his most recent position being Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Emory Decatur Hospital.

The most important thing to Rodney was his family. He married the love of his life, Allison, on September 19, 1998. His daughter Morgan and his son Ryan were the light of his life. The family enjoyed boating, water skiing, hiking, snow skiing and scuba diving together. He loved the outdoors, his dogs, and was working on his pilot's license.

He will be remembered by his beloved wife Allison, daughter Morgan, son Ryan, and his brothers Edward (Anita), Hector (Cheri), Robert (Julie), Jack (Dustin), Scott (Nan) and his many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 10th, 3:00 PM at AS Turner & Sons Funeral Home, 2773 North Decatur Road, Decatur Georgia 30033, with a reception to follow.
