CRAFTON, Charles Aubrey
Duluth, Georgia/Meherrin, Virginia – Charles Aubrey Crafton, 84, passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2021. Born December 24, 1937, he was born in Meherrin, Virginia, to the late Aubrey and Sunie Crafton.
Whether he was working in the garden, or selling his pecans, Charles had the biggest heart and a passion for people. He never met a stranger, and always carried a good story, but would never tell one, until he heard all about you.
Charles retired from the Gwinnett County School System, and proudly served his country in the US Navy.
Charles was also preceded in death by his brother Landon Crafton. Charles is survived by his beloved wife and best friend Anne, two sons, Thomas Aubrey of Loganville, Georgia and Christopher Charles (Paige) of Fuquay Varina, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Makayla Crafton, Taylor Crafton, Dillon Crafton, Landon Crafton and Zakary Crafton; two nieces Kandy (Jimmy)
Satterwhite, Tammy Jo (Eugene) Banton and nephew Frank (Rhonda) Crafton.
The family will receive friends from 3 until 6 PM. on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Bill Head Funeral Home, Duluth, Georgia. The family will also receive friends from 6 PM until 8 PM on Tuesday, October 5, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Browning Funeral Home, Keysville, Virginia, with the Rev. Todd Childres. Burial will follow at the Meherrin Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Meherrin, Virginia.
Pallbearers: Frank Crafton, Andrew Crafton, Dillon Crafton, Landon Crafton, Zak Crafton and Jimmy Satterwhite. Honorary pallbearers: Sammy Phillips and James Landrew Conant.
