CARUBBI, Jr., Angelo Joseph

Angelo Joseph Carubbi Jr., 89, from Modesto CA, passed away from Cardiac and renal failure on August 16th, 2021. He was born January 1, 1932, in Galveston, Texas, the son of Angelo Joseph Carubbi Sr. and Madeline Marie (Labarbera) Carubbi.

Angelo Graduated from High school in Galveston, Texas. A.J. earned a bachelor's degree from University of Notre Dame and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Texas. He served two years in the Army during the Korean war.

A.J practiced law throughout the state of Texas and serviced on many committees. He was the President of Jaycees for the State of Texas and an Assistant Attorney General to the State of Texas. He was active in politics and served as a delegate for Lynden B. Johnson. He retired from the United States Postal Service in Atlanta, Georgia. After retirement he worked as a part time lawyer and did mediation for the State Georgia until the age of 83.

A.J. loved animals and at one point in his life he had a bird atrium, and a large saltwater fish tank built into his house. He had a pet monkey and a parrot that could carry on a conversation with anyone. In Georgia he lived on a horse ranch. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and traveling in his RV. He leaves behind his companions for life Harvey and Madison his dogs that accompanied him every day to Starbucks for his favorite coffee and doggie snack.

A.J. was a devoted Catholic and loved his religion. He was very active in the Atlanta Church. He spent a lot of his retirement time at the church. A.J. enjoyed helping fellow Catholics.

Predeceased were his parents Madeline and Angelo Carubbi Sr. and his ex-wife Kathryn Joann (Conlin) Schoen. Although divorced often said, she was the only woman he ever loved. Survived by his only sister which he loved dearly Madeline Graves. His five children: Kathryn Richardson, Richard Carubbi, Tom Carubbi, Kelly Johnson, and Amy Barron. Eight grandchildren: Katlin Zimmer, Jack Richardson, Tiana Johnson, Sean Johnson, Taylor Barron, Shane Carubbi, Brandie Carubbi and Tiffany Carubbi. Four great-grandchildren: Coby Zimmer, Arya (A.J.) Zimmer, Jett Richardson and Cannon Richardson.

Mass will be held at Saint Vincent De Paul Catholic church in Pampa, Texas on October 2nd followed by a private funeral and burial at Fairview Cemetery in Pampa Texas.
