BUCK, John
John F. Buck, age 93, died peacefully on September 7, 2021. He was born in Atlanta, GA, January 20, 1928 to Vernon A. Buck, Sr., and Glennie Kirk Buck. He worked at Lockheed while earning a degree in Elementary Education at Morris Brown College. He taught in Atlanta Public Schools for 30 years at R.L. Craddock and Mary McLeod Bethune elementary schools before retirement, when he enjoyed working in the yard, listening to his jazz music collection and talking on the phone with neighbors and watching television.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Vernon Jr. and sister Virginia Buck Prather. He leaves his daughter Carol (William) of Los Angeles, CA; sons Gregory of Corpus Christi, TX; Jonathan (Nazer or "ZeZe") of Ellenwood, GA; Todd (Donna) of Stockbridge, GA; devoted niece Monique Prather of Atlanta; his constant companion, Shirley Gardner, of Columbus, GA; his grandchildren Kovel Vernon, Darryl Dorsey, Cory Buck, Christian Buck, Ta-Tyonna Buck, and Teonta Buck; his three great-grandchildren, Keyshaun, Jayden, and Skylar, and several nieces and nephews.
