Vernon (Sister) Brantley went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 1:08 AM surrounded by love. Sister Brantley was born in Rockdale County, Conyers, Georgia on May 2, 1934, to the late Robert (Jerry) Mapp, Sr. and Littie Bell (Doll Baby) Cox-Mapp. She was the sixth of twelve children born to this union, and spent her formative years in Rockdale County, Conyers, Georgia.
Sister Brantley received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and attended Angie Avenue Pentecostal Church, where she served as the organist. She later was a member of Druid Hills Church of God in Christ in Lithonia, Georgia. Sister Brantley served on the motherboard and was actively involved in the community. She spent most of her life caring for others, helping those in need, and offering what she could.
Her wake service will be held on November 12, 2021 from 6-7 PM and her Homegoing Celebration will be Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 1 PM. Both will take place at Gregory B Levett & Sons in Decatur, Georgia.
