ALBERTSON, John Eugene "Gene"

John Eugene "Gene" Albertson, age 88, of Highway 182 in Lincolnton, passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021.

"Gene" was born August 22, 1933, in Dekalb County, Georgia, to the late John Andrew Albertson and Eber Echols Albertson. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Jack and J.T. Albertson. He worked as an insurance agent for 30+ years. Gene loved golf, his church, yard sales, and gardening. Always had a smile on his face and loved everyone.

He is survived by his wife and the love of his life for 68 years, Elaine Porter Albertson of the home; children, Cindy Whitener (Mel), Rick Albertson (Myra), Tim Albertson, and Connie Turner (Darren); sister, Era Carlan; grandchildren, Shannon Whitener (Dusti), Christie Murray (Jake), Adam Whitener (Erica), Chad Albertson (Chance), Summer Albertson, Jonathan Albertson, Evan Albertson (Sasha), Morgan Fox (Rob), and Grace Turner; and great-grandchildren, Cody Heavner, Aydan Heavner, Cameron Whitener, Ashton Whitener, Emma Whitener, Eli Whitener, Jayden McSwain, Trevor McSwain, Pierceson Hillard, Lucy Fox, Turner Fox, Van Albertson, and Sonny Albertson.

Services will be planned for a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Freedom Church, 125 E. Main Street, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
