A North Georgia man has been arrested and accused of kidnapping a woman at gunpoint in Hall County on Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

The woman found Moises Peguero, 33, in her driveway when she arrived home that afternoon. She had previously been in a relationship with Peguero, according to Hall County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Derreck Booth.

Authorities said the Auburn man loaded his gun in front of the woman and chambered a round of ammunition. Peguero then forced the victim into his car at gunpoint and held onto her hair and one of her legs to keep her from escaping, Booth said.

According to Booth, Peguero drove her around in his car before returning her to the home. She was eventually able to escape the car and call for help as Peguero left the scene, Booth said.

Investigators found his Barrow County address, and deputies in that county arrested him around 5 p.m. the same day and turned him over to Hall County deputies, according to officials.

He is being held at the Hall County Jail, charged with kidnapping and aggravated assault.
