Aiming for improved traffic flow and safety, the Georgia Department of Transportation and the city of Roswell will start installing so-called Four-Section Flashing Yellow Arrow signals along a busy stretch of Ga. 92 beginning today. The new signals will vertically display four turn arrows, including a flashing yellow allowing drivers to turn left after yielding to pedestrians and oncoming traffic.

The new signals, said to be helpful in preventing traffic and speeding traffic through intersections, will be installed at Ga. 92 and: Hardscrabble Road, Westwind Boulevard, Bowen Road/Mountain Park Road, King Road/Woodstock Road, Roswell Crossing, Crabapple Road and Bent Grass Drive.

Traffic officials say installation at the seven intersections will last a couple of weeks, with some disruption to turning traffic during off-peak hours.
