The non-profit Quality Care for Children announced Tueday that the organization will sponsor two new child care centers through the federally funded U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). The centers are Celebrity Kids Learning Center LLC at 3027 Memorial Drive in Atlanta and First Steps Daycare, 1638 Washington Highway, Elberton. With the addition of these programs, QCC is sponsoring seven child care centers and one afterschool program, providing daily meals and snacks to more than 300 Georgia children. “Hungry minds can’t focus or learn if their bellies are hungry too and they are not getting the proper nutrition, which is critical during the first few years of life as well,” said Pam Tatum, QCC’s chief executive officer.
