Two kids fighting cancer say they're lucky: Although they're both battling a terrible disease, it helped them form a special friendship.

Stella Usiak and Lucas Lowe are 12 years old. They both were diagnosed with leukemia, went into remission and relapsed.

They are currently getting treatment at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, New York.

"She's had a crush on me for a while now, and I've had a crush on her, so her and me are boyfriend and girlfriend now," Lucas told WGRZ.

Nurses say they understand each other better than anyone else.

A Facebook page created to document Lucas' journey captures snapshots of their relationship. One video posted to the page shows Lucas telling Stella how much he loves her in a series of note cards.
