An 87-year-old man suffered a broken ankle Tuesday after falling 25 feet into an abandoned well in his front yard.
Ron Sparks noticed a depression in the lawn while he was mowing the grass, KABC reported. He fell through when he stepped on it.
Sparks yelled for about a half hour before someone heard him and he was rescued.
"He said it was like a bad ride at Magic Mountain," his daughter Merrilee Kaszacs told KABC.
The family had no idea the old well was on the property.
