A 93-year-old woman brought cinnamon rolls and coffee and continued her five decade tradition of reopening a highway Friday.
Tootsie Clark was first on hand for the annual reopening of the North Cascades Highway with her father in 1973, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
WSDOT shared a photo of Tootsie with Granny Winthrop and Don Becker, a WSDOT maintenance supervisor.
Clark was handing out her, "delicious cinnamon rolls and coffee to those waiting for the gates to swing open," WSDOT wrote. "Tootsie first made the trip to the yearly opening with her dad in 1973 and is always a highlight of this exciting day."
